Takaora is an atoll located 350 miles away from Tahiti. Some of its inhabitants live in the village of Teavaroa, but others reside in the “sectors”, small land parcels that form the perimeter of the atoll. Here, they live on pearl oyster culture, copra and fishing.
Through Robert, the paumotu traveller, Tautiare, the open water worker who became a baker, and Sabrine the fish-seller, Takaora opens up to us in an intimate setting.
