Toulouse National Capitol Orchestra - Kazuki Yamada conducts Brahms and Strauss with Adam Laloum

Kazuki Yamada, guest principal conductor at the Swiss Romande Orchestra and the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, principal conductor at the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and associate conductor at a number of orchestras, is one of the highest-profile conductors of his generation. Following his majestic debut at the National Orchestra of the Capitole of Toulouse two years ago, he returns for a program of Germanic music featuring the last embers of Romanticism from Richard Strauss: Don Juan and the Suite taken from the Rosenkavalier are redolent of “the world of yesteryear”, the world of turn of the century Vienna so dear to Stefan Zweig and Thomas Mann. These works are preceded by Concerto No 1 for piano and orchestra by Brahms, performed by the young pianist from Toulouse, Adam Laloum. Following his first prize in the prestigious Clara Haskil competition in 2009, he has gained international recognition and is rapidly making a reputation on major international platforms.
