Who better than two performers who are themselves from the East (Tugan Sokhiev and violin prodigy Sergey Khachatryan) to pay homage to composers who, like the Russians, Igor Stravinksy and Dimitri Kabalevsky, or the Armenian, Aram Khatchatourian, were able to create bridges between popular tradition and the scholarly repertoire.
Following a number of highly acclaimed concerts in Toulouse, Munich and Paris, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse invites the young violinist, Sergey Khcachatryan, back for one of the most popular works by the Armenian composer Khatchatourian: the solar violin concerto (which Sergey Khachatryan recorded on the Naïve label when he was only 20 years old).

Violin: Sergey Khachatryan
KABALEVSKY / Colas Breugnon, Overture.
