In less than four decades, the French hunting landscape has changed from small game hunting to big game hunting. Little by little, willingly or unwillingly, hunters have had to swap the shotgun for the rifle or the express with a plethora of calibers with names that are obscure to say the least. 7x64, 9.3x62 or .300 Winchester Magnum are all names that we had to get used to, but do we really know what these names mean and what each of these calibers represents? Against which game and for which type of hunting is it the most effective? And with what type of bullet?
