Choreographer Alexander Vantournhout directs and challenges the body with Screws and Stones at La Conciergerie de Paris.
The dance performance Screws and Stones refers to the pianist Nils Frahm’s 2011 album. At that time, he had broken several fingers and couldn’t play the piano anymore. He composed some pieces for each finger so he could keep on playing.
It inspired Alexander Vantournhout a surrealistic universe where physical items reduce the movement capacity of the performers and influence the choreography. It is an astonishing painting of the body skills.
