Nicolas Germain, a son of the Jura, loves his Ain River above all others. Ever since he was a teenager, he has been relentlessly hunting the trout that frequent this waterway.  An expert in sight nymph fly fishing, he changes his technique with the seasons of the year and weather conditions to best lure this fish that is so difficult to catch. Approaching slowly and stealthily, like a hunter, he moves on tiptoe in order to cast his fly in front of his target. Like many anglers, Nicolas makes his own flies, but he has acquired such a level of expertise that his creations are highly prized by his fellow fly fishermen. Over a number of days, we share Nicolas’ experience. He will not only reveal his secret spots, but also share his vision of fly fishing and fishing in general. Respect for the environment is essential. If we don’t take care of our playground, there will no pleasure left in fishing. Deeply involved in his work with associations, Nicolas uses the opportunity to carry on the fight against the pollution that is gradually affecting the rivers of the Franche-Comté region.

The moments we share with Nicolas reveal a passionate man who approaches fishing in a different way. An ambassador for the Ain River, his river.
